Ilya is a couch surfer and I knew him from Munich couch surfers, they are good friend. so I met Ilya in Bern. It was nice stay in his apartment. We went to couch surfing meeting, cooked and spent really good time. On my way to Geneva I came to Lausanne to meet Ilya to give his key. On the way close to train station I met a friendly guy, Roderigo, he is also traveling different countries and randomly meeting people. He was very interested to host me, so he gave me his mobile number. He was coming from Morocco. So he told me to give him a call if I need any accommodation. Lausanne is a very hilly city. So nearly half an hour it took me to reach to city center. I met two friends, one from Chili and another from Russia. I started to talk with them, they are very friendly and scientist working in Lausanne.

I met Ilya close to old church where I again met those two friends who were passing by and introduced them with Ilya, because he is from Russia and also working as a scientist in Bern. Then I and Ilya started to travel in the city. He showed me few view points, cultural house, tallest building in Switzerland which was built in Lausanne. Nearly 2,5 hours we were riding on bike in whole city, up and down, sometimes pushing bike up to the hill. I really liked his company, and then I met his fiancée, Caroline. We had a nice talk. Evening was coming, so I said good bye and continued my journey to Geneva.

Another friend Ilya from Munich, was very much helped by Roderigo during his visit in Lausanne. Thank you very much Roderigo for your great help and open hand for people.

Thank you Ilya and Caroline for nice meeting in Lausanne and for your couch in Bern!

It will be great memory.

About Somen Debnath

Dear friends, my name is Somen Debnath. I am a resident of the village of Basanti, Sundarbans, West Bengal, which is a great mangrove forest and the largest tiger reserve in India. My "Around the World Bicycle Tour for HIV/AIDS Awareness Programme & Presentation of Indian Culture" started on 27th of May 2004, two days after I acquired Bachelor degree in Zoology from the University of Calcutta. I have also completed 'Visarad' in Fine Arts from the Sarbabhartiya University. My goal is to cover 191 countries till 2020. I will travel 200.000 km in the whole world and reach nearly 20 million people. 118.000 km I will travel for charity, that's why I'm selling my Km to people. The support I will get from people buying my kilometres will help me fulfill my other dream: to build a Global village in my native place, Basanti, Sundarbans.
